Mrs. Schafer's Introduction to FACS classes completed their apron and pillow sewing projects this quarter. Each student pinned, cut and constructed their individual projects with fabric and notions they selected. Many of them will use their aprons for future cooking labs this year and in Foods and Nutrition classes. Fantastic job ACHS!

The ACHS community is deeply saddened to share the news of the passing of former teacher Lyle Casper. Lyle dedicated his career to our school from 1990 to 2009, teaching U.S. History and Industrial Arts, and leaving a lasting impact on countless students. A lifelong Pittsburgh Pirates fan, Lyle brought his passion for sports into the classroom as a varsity basketball coach, leading the team to victory in the coveted NTC tournament championship in 1990. His enthusiasm for education and coaching inspired many and created memories that will be cherished forever. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time. Thank you, Lyle, for your dedication and the legacy you leave behind. You will be deeply missed. ❤️⚾🏀

Altamont CUSD #10 will join the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) in the thirteenth statewide survey of school climate and learning conditions. The survey provides a unique opportunity for students, teachers and parents to have a voice in improving their schools. The survey opens February 18, 2025 and concludes on March 28, 2025. Students and teachers will be invited to participate in a 30-minute research-based survey to help identify strengths and weaknesses in their school’s learning environment. The parent survey supplement will also be administered during the same survey window. These surveys will serve as an opportunity for schools to reflect on progress since the last statewide implementation. Parents will be communicated the survey link through the platforms they have set up for the school to use.
